Corporate Structure and Financial Information

The Peel Paramedic Association is a Registered Non Profit Charity within Canada under charity number 85818 3379 RR0001.  As such the Peel Paramedic Association is required to follow strict reporting and operation guidelines.

The Peel Paramedic Association was formed in 2004 under the following objects of incorporation.

• To provide education to the general public, government and allied resources regarding the roles and responsibilities of paramedics, prehospital care and emergency response
• To contribute to the community at large through becoming active members society through participating in community service and fundraising for local charities/non profit organizations
• To promote safety and healthy lifestyles within the community
• To work with  EMS stakeholders (gov’t, allied resources, service providers, general public etc..) to improve delivery of pre-hospital care within the Region of Peel and the Province of Ontario

The Peel Paramedic Association is a chapter of the Ontario Paramedic Association (www.ontarioparamedic.ca), but operates independantly, governed by our own separate by-laws. (available for download below). 

The PPA is College of Paramedicine neutral, and instead encourages all members to research the subject and form their own opinions. 

As a charity, the PPA is open to ALL employees of Peel Regional Paramedic Services, and is not involved in any labour relation issues.  For information about union/labour issues, visit www.peelparamedics.com to learn more.

As a formal corporation, the PPA is required to hold an Annual General Meeting, usually held in the Spring of each year to vote on a new Board of Directors.  Positions are open to all members in good standing.
