Hello All,
It's been a while since we've had an update on the news page. Not to worry, the PPA hasn't been standing still!
Since the AGM, Mike Thomas and Kaley Jevnikar have held several succesful Child Restraint Tech courses with some new faces added to the roster along with a number of us old hands being recertified!
If you're a Tech and you'd like to help out at a clinic, please email Kaley at k.jevnikar@peelparamedics.ca to find out when the next one is being held. If you'd like info on upcoming CRS courses please email Kaley as well.
At the AGM we welcomed 3 new Board Members to the team:
James Campbell
Augusto DaSilva
Kaley Jevnikar
We also bid farewell to Jody Tansley and Steve Walker, who after many years of distinguished service are moving along to other ventures!
The website is moving forward as well (albeit slowly at times) and I have many new features to implement in the future! The most recent addition is a Twitter feed in the upper right corner. For now I will be using it to update you on the website, but in the (very) near future I expect that many (if not all) of the Board will use it to keep you updated on their PPA related activites.
For those of you unfamiliar with Twitter, it is a "micro-blogging" service that allows its users to update the world in 140 character "Tweets". It is a very efficient way to get many small chunks of information out to a large group of "followers" in a rapid fashion.
Large articles and updates will continue to be posted to the website!
If you have a Twitter account I invite you to follow us at http://twitter.com/ParamedicAssoc and join in. If you don't have a Twitter account I encourage you to create one and follow us to participate more effectively in the dialogue.
If you're technically inclined and web savvy, I invite you to contact me at j.death@peelparamedics.ca as I would like to have an assistant webmaster to help out with some of the site maintenence. If you're more of a wordsmith I would also love to hear from you as I'm looking for an assistant editor to help out with article submssions and publication...
As always, stay safe!
Joel
