PPA Community Programs

The PPA since it's inception has been involved in many community focused programs and developed many partnerships within our community.  Below is a small sample of some of our programs.

Tim Teddy Program

Through our partnership with Tim Horton's Canada, the PPA and Tim Horton's provide over 1000 "Tim Teddy" bears for Peel Regional Paramedic Services response vehicles and ambulances each year.  These Teddy Bears prove to be an invaluable tool for Paramedics as we treat children and their loved ones by providing a bridge between the children and our Paramedics.

Community CPR Program

Through the generous donation from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the PPA was able to start up our community CPR program.  To date we have trained  thousands of high school students in CPR at no charge to the schools.  We continue to work with community groups to expand this most critical link in the chain of survival.

Community Car Seat Inspection Program

Started in 2006 the PPA partnered with Canadian Tire Corp. and received a generous donation to start up and train Paramedics as official Car Seat Technicians.  We continue to work with other community groups in making our most precious assets as safe as they can be as they travel on Canadian roads.

Public Outreach

Again through the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation the PPA has acquired our own public information unit, displays and public education materials that can be found at various community events, including the annual EMS Week celebrations in Peel Region

The PPA & Weather Network Safety Messages

Through the hard work of former board member Steve Walker the PPA teamed up with The Weather Network to produce short community safety messages, presented by Peel Paramedics.  The Weather Network holds the title for the most watched channel, and is a perfect match to get our these very important safety messages.
